Bangladesh have named a 17-man squad for the Asia Cup starting later this month, while announcing their captain for the tournament as well as the T20 World Cup later this year.

Saifuddin returns to the Bangladesh team after an absence of almost 10 months. He last played for the Tigers in the T20 World Cup last year, where his tournament was cut short after a back injury sidelined him. Rahman, who last featured for Bangladesh in the shortest format in 2019, will also find a place in the lineup in adversity.
Bangladesh will find themselves in Group B of the Asia Cup against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Their campaign begins on August 30 with a match against Afghanistan before taking on the Islanders on September 1.
